Amazing Chinese places to visit

When you’re off teaching English in a country as large, diverse and beautiful as China you wont find it hard to find somewhere worth a visit. But to help you get some inspiration here’s a few pics of some of my personal favorite visiting spots.

Pandas in Chengdu

Chengdu pandas in Southwest China. ChinaTEFLer

The Panda is a national symbol of China  and Chengdu, the Sichuanese city that is home to the World Giant Panda Breeding and Research Center is an excellent place to see them.

Summit of Emei Shan

Summit of Emei Shan

Emei Shan is one of the four  sacred mountains in the whole of China. Climbing the endless stone steps to see the summit statue is a stunning and beautiful way to spend a weekend. It will also keep you fit and provide you with a tranquil, spiritual environment.. The clean mountain air will clean your lungs and the peace and tranquility will nourish your soul. A highly recommended trip for any traveler.

Guilin

Guilin

The stunning Karst mountains provide the most breathtaking backdrop to a playground and swim in a nice warm lake. This place is a photographers wet dream.

Yunnan

Yunnan

Yunan province is packed full of stunning white towers meaning anything from safe travel to a happy life. From Tiger leaping gorge to Lugu lake. The mountain scenery and dramatic landscape, along with frighteningly dangerous looking windy mountain roads make Yunnan a fascinating experience.

Hua Shan

Hua Shan

Regarded by many travelers as China’s most dangerous mountain. Hua Shan is a great side trip to go when you visit the terracotta army at Xian. With two kilometer sheer drops and paths with a single chain as a safety barrier. Hua Shan is a thrill seekers ideal daytrip.

The Great Wall of China

Great Wall of China

Its obvious, extremely famous and extremely popular. No other man made structure on earth can compare to the scale and size of the great wall of China. But you wont realize just how well justified this is until you go see it for yourself. Latest studies have revealed that there have been at least 16 great walls built throughout history and that end to end they stretch over half way around the equator.  In my opinion, the scale of the great wall doesn’t truly hit you until you go there and see it for yourself. Built by sheer man power and Chinese ingenuity. Incredible, like nothing else on earth.

Sanya

Sanya

This photo was taken during a hurricane. Sanya is widely regarded as the Chinese Hawai. A tropical paradise inside the Chinese border. Affordable luxury packed full of Russians and foreign tourists, with a great night life and delicious Chinese inspired ocean foods.
